Inspired by vintage utility lighting aboard ships, our F-5 features a weather-proof design, rubber gasket with thick frosted glass and solid die-cast brass construction. Its non-corrosive construction can be used in harsh coastal conditions where the salt air is the least forgiving. Depending on the finish, our open bulkhead sconce can be characterized as a modern flush mount (chrome), art deco sconce (nickel) or nautical replica light (with the brass cage, B-3). Recent installations include Freehand Hotel, Life Hotel (New York, NY) and private residences in Chilmark, MA, New Canaan, CT and Southampton, NY.
Lead Time: Standard finishes are typically in-stock; Custom finishes are 4-8 weeks unless in-stock (contact us for our list of in-stock custom finishes). Material: Solid Brass Construction
Maintenance: When used by the ocean or in extreme weather conditions, our lights will patina and eventually verdigris over time. Since our lights are solid brass or bronze, they will not rust, corrode or disintegrate. All finishes are living finishes and will continue to patina as they age. We always recommend routine maintenance including a gentle soap & water solution or butcher wax if trying to slow the natural aging process.
