Socket: Medium (E26) Base (Default) or Candelabra (E12) Base (Accepts LED & Incandescent Bulbs) ; Dimmable ; Standard 110v
- Medium base: Standard socket size, can accommodate 100w LED equivalent (it’s tight) and provides more flexibility regarding bulb choices. Due to the fixture’s size, this socket takes up more space inside the fixture so there tends to be a shady spot where the socket is located. Unfortunately, the only remedy for this is switching to the candelabra socket.
- Candelabra (Small) base: Can accommodate up to a 60w LED equivalent (they will most likely come out with higher wattage options at some point). The socket itself is much smaller so it doesn’t take up as much space inside the fixture and therefore does not create the same ‘shady’ spot.

What makes our oval bulkhead light different from lights that look similar: Shiplights modifies each light so it can attach & cover a standard US-Junction Box – for a seamless installation (with all necessary hardware provided). The smallest of our marine grade outdoor oval bulkhead lights, this non-corrosive sconce is perfect for shoreline projects. It can be featured on decks and docks as well as nautical bunk beds and more. It’s sometimes referred to as a turtle or tartaruga light and can be compared to the mariner light, Davey DWR oval bulkhead lights, A9232, seabeck cage oval bulkhead sconce etc. Recent installations of our nautical clamshell dock light include private residences in Santa Rosa Beach, FL , Edisto Island, SC and Bozeman, MT. The O-1 was also used at the Four Seasons Hotel in Nevis, Vineyard Vines retail stores and at the Cliff House Resort (Cape Neddick, ME).

Maintenance: When used by the ocean or in extreme weather conditions, our lights will patina and eventually verdigris over time. Since our lights are solid brass or bronze, they will not rust, corrode or disintegrate. All finishes are living finishes and will continue to patina as they age. We always recommend routine maintenance including a gentle soap & water solution or butcher wax if trying to slow the natural aging process.
